Last year, we found out too late that we nominated again, so this year we are starting our campaign right away to win for 2011!! Voting started August 29th and runs through October 9th. At Jewell’s there are many ways to get deals:

1. We get new inventory daily priced at a fraction of the retail value, alot of items even come in brand new with tags. We start our prices at retail clearance prices so you can get great fashion and a great price.

2. We have everyday sales on top of that: 30% off, 50% off & 65% off! Check our handy date boards throughout the store or ask one of our sales associates to find out if the item you’re interested is marked down even further than the price on the tag. To save us some work of marking every tag in the store with the appropriate markdown, the everyday sales at the store are all based on the date printed on the tag (the day the item entered inventory). So that cute pair of jeans you have in your hand could be either 30% off, 50% off, or 65% off depending on how long it has been in the store. If you don’t understand how our sales work, that’s ok, because they are automatically discounted at the register.

3. The next deal we have for you the customer is relatively new to Jewell’s, and that is our hole-punched items. This is the final mark down we have to move overstock inventory. These items are present on our rack outside the doors, our clearance rounder rack in the middle of the store and in our upstairs clearance section. How does it work?? Ignore the price on the tag, and count the hole punches for your price, e.g. 1 hole punch= $1, 3 hole punches=$3, etc.

4. In addition to our everday sales above, we have targeted event sales (1-3 day promotions) such as an extra 10% off everything in the store or 20% off one regular priced purse. These sales/events are never set in stone during the year. They could be around the change of our season, in the middle of our seasons for overstock of one particular item, or just because.

5. Facebook Deals!! These are deals exclusively for our customers who have the places app on their smartphones and use them to check-in to Jewell’s Premier Consignment, LLC when they are at the store shopping. When we are running deals and you check in you will be presented with a deals screen on your phone that you must present to the cashier in order to use the coupon. This gives you a great deal and gets us free promotion for the store when all you friends see that you come here to shop. Current Deal on Facebook runs through May 25th, first 100 people to check-in get 20% off one regular priced item!!

      I know it’s still freezing cold and raining, but summer is right around the corner and we @ Jewell’s would like to remind you that we are still accepting consignment items daily. Right now we are taking in spring season items for those in between months where it’s not quite winter and not quite summer. We are looking for spring colors, spring prints (floral, paisley), and basically anything you would wear right now for this weather. Keep in mind that the items you bring in will be at the store for 60 days so the items you select need to be not only appropriate for right now, but for the entire time we have them at the store.

      April 1 marks the change of season for us into summer clothing and accessories. To us that means casual capris, short shorts, swim wear, sandles, sun hats, sleeveless/short sleeve shirts, tank tops, halters, sun dresses, etc. We will be looking for bright summer colors and prints (floral, paisley, hawaiian). We will of course still be accepting staple items such as jeans, little black dresses, bridesmaids dresses, slacks for office workers, etc. Keep in mind that we do have limited space so for items like slacks, pants, jackets and jeans we may be selective to make room for more common summer wear items if needed. We are always looking for new consignors so don’t hesitate to bring your items in, as long as they meet our criteria we have many ways to accomodate any situation.

How far can you go in 5 years?

We’re about to find out. Time has gone by so fast, and I didn’t take enough pictures along the way. Jewell’s Premier Consignment is going to be 5 years old in March, 2011.

When we opened I begged for clothes, even traveled to Vancouver to raid my friend’s closet. Now it rolls in at around 1500+ items a week. We built a 3rd dressing room and have expanded with a processing building across the street! I don’t know how it all happened but I’ll tell you this much; it is God’s business, He just lets me run it. Our staff is so amazing and, oh by the way, I prayed every one of them in.

We do not have to beg for clothes any longer and with almost 3000 consignors you really shouldn’t have to. I love getting up every morning and going to the store to make sure things are ready for the people we may cross paths with that day. It’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done and I hope those same people feel welcome when the enter and blessed when the exit.

We are currently building a new dressing room (we will have 3 now) and during the construction I remembered my landlord initially (almost 5 years ago) trying to get me to build small ones with curtains. Of course I would have none of it! I argued that ladies like dressing rooms they can move around in, share with a girlfriend, mother, sister or just have enough room to take in a ton of clothes to try on. Some ladies want to take a stroller in with them; others want to be able to maneuver a wheelchair or walker around comfortably. I am one of those ladies. I want comfort, which means lots of room and plenty of space to sit/hang my purse and enough space to take in enough clothes that I can go in there and take off my clothes 1 time and be done. I conviced my landlord that it was important and he heard me. So now there are 3.
